Wiltshire Farm Foods have over 25 years experience in delivering delicious dishes to individuals all over the UK. In that time we have built up a wealth of experience in the field of good nutrition for older adults which we are keen to share with healthcare professionals.

 We are pleased to now offer free 2 hour CPD training events for healthcare professionals written by Wiltshire Farm Foods Registered Dietitian Helen Willis, endorsed by the British Dietetic Association and delivered by Registered Dietitian Sue Baic on the subject of Good Nutrition for Older Adults in the community.

​What does the course cover?

In a fast paced and thorough 2 hour morning session Registered Dietitian Sue Baic MSc RD RNutr will give you a greater understanding of the subject of good nutrition for older adults in the community.

By attending this CPD session participants will:

  •  Increase knowledge and understanding of  some of the key nutritional issues in older adults
  •  Identify the main risk factors that might lead to poor diet in older adults
  •  Appreciate why it is important to address nutrition issues in older adults 
  •  Takeaway practical suggestions they can put into practice with older patients
  •  Identify existing resources which may be helpful
  •  To have a chance to ask  questions and discuss aspects of diet and nutrition in older adults
  •  Taste and see foods available for older adults

The course is focussed on older adults living in the community and is delivered in an engaging and interactive way through a combination of lecture style teaching and practical activities.

Who is the course for?

This course is exclusively open to health and social care professionals and is free to attend.

This course has been designed for the wider multi-disciplinary team responsible for the care of older patients and is open to the following healthcare professional groups:

  • Occupational Therapists 
  • Speech & Language Therapists 
  • Nurses
  • Members of the hospital discharge team 
  • Social Workers 
  • Domiciliary Care Workers

Please note: Whilst focused on nutrition this course has not been designed for dietitians.

Your training provider

Sue Baic MSc RD RNutr

Sue Baic is a Registered Dietitian and member of the British Dietetic Association. She has several years’ experience in both  acute and community settings in the NHS and Adult Social care  working with older adults.

Sue has been involved in setting nutrition standards for community meals and acts as a Specialist Advisor (Nutrition) for the Care Quality Commission. She has over 10 years’ experience in healthcare professional education and CPD.
